New from Texas are two whisky's - a rye and this 100% Texas yellow corn Bourbon, entirely aged in Houston. The 15-20 degree temperature swings in the region give the spirits unique characteristics with an angel's share around 15% annually.
Tasting note: [2018 batch] Deep topaz. Very corn heavy on the nose; corn chips, corn bread, a little furniture polish… also vaguely green and vegetal. On the palate it's oilier and sweeter than the aromas suggest; there's good weight with vanilla and charry oak plus a little lick of spice. Satisfying - in spite of a few off notes. 46% Alc.Vol.
Nose: Intense aroma, rich caramel, and vanilla with a hint of floral
Palate: Slightly sweet and extremely rich
Finish: Long, maintaining caramel and vanilla. Like a good dessert
